MCLE Programs
Programs presented by Bay Area Lawyers Network are held at the
City Club of San Francisco, located in the Stock Exchange Tower
Building at 155 Sansome Street, 10th Floor, in San Francisco. The
luncheons are held in one of the Club's private dining rooms.
Members and guests arrive at noon, and for the first
half-hour have time to socialize, enjoy refreshments, eat lunch and have an
opportunity to discuss BALN affairs.
MCLE programs commence at 12:30 p.m. and last one hour. The atmosphere is a lively one similar to a business lunch. Some presenters use written handouts and others employ computer projected slide shows. The lectures are always stimulating and educational,
and most presentations include a section on legal ethics..
Reservations for each event are required as the number of seats is limited by the size of the room we use. Kindly RSVP directly to BALN
at info@baln.org. Please specify the name, telephone number and area of practice of any guest who will be attending
(guest fees are $60 payable in advance or at the program).

Compliance Groups
Lawyers
in California are divided into 3
compliance groups. The compliance period
for each of the three groups is
staggered, so that each group reports
compliance in a different year.
Compliance periods are 36 months in
length.
Just
prior to the end of a group's compliance
period, the State Bar sends compliance
cards to those who must comply that
year. The table above lists the next
reporting deadline for each compliance
group and the breakdown of the 25-hour
education requirement.

Group 1 (A-G) |
Group 2 (H-M) |
Group 3 (N-Z) |

payment of annual bar dues. On Feb. 2,
late payments will be assessed a $100
fee for active attorneys and $30 for
inactive members.

with letters N-Z) also must submit their
MCLE compliance cards online or make
sure they are postmarked by Feb. 1.
